I didn&#8217;t find the 1000+ flock I was promised (Maybe they&#8217;d flown off to feed somewhere else, or I didn&#8217;t hit the right pond?)  but I did find these seven:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1000340\" src=\"http:\/\/www.elharo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/bbwd.JPG\" alt=\"Black-bellied Whistling Ducks\" width='640' height='409'\/><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a Gadwall in the foreground.<\/p>\n<p>Other birds seen or heard included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Greylag Goose  (domestic, of course)   <\/li>\n<li>Mute Swan     1<\/li>\n<li>Muscovy Duck     <\/li>\n<li>Wood Duck     17<\/li>\n<li>Mallard     <\/li>\n<li>Common Goldeneye     1<\/li>\n<li>Pied-billed Grebe     <\/li>\n<li>American Coot     <\/li>\n<li>Ring-billed Gull     <\/li>\n<li>Belted Kingfisher     1<\/li>\n<li>Red-bellied Woodpecker     1<\/li>\n<li>Downy Woodpecker     1<\/li>\n<li>American Crow     <\/li>\n<li>Fish Crow     9<\/li>\n<li>Golden-crowned Kinglet     2<\/li>\n<li>Ruby-crowned Kinglet     4<\/li>\n<li>American Robin     <\/li>\n<li>Northern Mockingbird     <\/li>\n<li>Orange-crowned Warbler     1<\/li>\n<li>Pine Warbler     1<\/li>\n<li>American Goldfinch     <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I also spent some time driving around uptown looking for White-winged Doves without any success.
