We didn&#8217;t get up till around 6:00 and didn&#8217;t drive more than a few miles away all day. We didn&#8217;t leave the tower until almost 8:00 AM, and we added one more life bird on the road out, #705, Cinnamon Woodpecker.<\/p>\n<p>We spent most of the morning at the Police Academy Ponds and on Old Gamboa Road. I missed Jet Antbird, but I did add eight more life birds:<\/p>\n<ol start='706'>\n<li>Gray-headed Chachalaca \t\t<\/li>\n<li> \tLesser Kiskadee (one I both spotted and ID&#8217;d on my own!) <\/li>\n<li> \tYellow Tyrannulet \t\t<\/li>\n<li> \tSouthern Beardless-Tyrannulet \t\t<\/li>\n<li> \tCrimson-crested Woodpecker \t\t<\/li>\n<li> \tBlack-striped Sparrow \t\t<\/li>\n<li> \tRed-throated Ant-Tanager \t\t<\/li>\n<li> \tYellow-billed Cacique \t\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We reached the main road about 11:00 and after taking a look at the sky decided wisely to skip the morning snack and race back to the tower before the heavens opened. We didn&#8217;t make it and got thoroughly soaked. Fortunately we were only a few miles away, and could change clothes before lunch. <\/p>\n<p>The rain eventually stopped by about 2:00, which was fortunate because from atop the tower the leader spotted 2 Scaled Pigeons, #714.<\/p>\n<p>Around 2:30 we decided the rain had let off enough to risk a walk down Semaphore Hill. Mostly it was more of the same species we had seen before, except for one mammal, a Koatamundi, and #715, White-tailed Trogon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thursday was a relatively relaxed day.
